New Delhi serves as the capital of India the largest commercial city in Northern India.  It is not just a simple city, it’s a universe of its own. New Delhi railway station is the main & largest railway station in Delhi & its code is NDLS. Also, it is one of the busiest railway stations of India. It is located in between Ajmeri Gate and Paharganj. There is total 3 FOB (Fob1, Fob2 & Fob3) by which the passenger can take entry inside the Main railway station. FOB stands for “Foot Over Bridge”. Daily more than 400 trains passing through or start from here. It has 16 platforms, in which Platform no. 1 to 16 is on the Paharganj side, whereas platform number 16 to 1 is another side of the Ajmeri gate. It comes under Northern Railway Zone. Nearest metro station is CP which stands for Connaught Place, in central Delhi which is only 1.5 km from this station. Another nearby metro station is Kashmiri gate ISBT which is 4 km away. New Delhi is on the yellow line of Delhi metro & it is on the Ajmeri Gate side of the New Delhi railway station. IGI (Indira Gandhi International Airport) is only 14.3 km away from this station. To reach to the New Delhi railway station you can take the bus as well. Bus Route no-12N,19A,21N,82N,166,188,351,393,435,457,458,459,467,740N,GL-22 are the bus series which drop you at the station of Paharganj side where platform number is in the order of 1 to 16. And Pick & drop area is also on the same side in between FOB1 & FOB2. Bus is also available on the other side of Ajmeri gate of the route number- 39, 39A, 62, 214, 214A, 307, 309,355A, 433,622, 445, 615A. Apart from this, there are many other facilities available for the tourist & travellers such as- ATM, Restaurant, Washrooms, Enquiry office, prepaid taxi & auto, Escalator etc. are the one which is available on both (Paharganj & Ajmeri gate) side of the station. As we all know the entry side of all the station is much more crowded so few of other facilities are available only on the entry side of platform 1 that is- RCD: Railway consumer depot, DTO: Delhi tourism office, ITB: International tourist bureau, Cloak room where the passengers can store their heavy luggage, 2 waiting room & temple is also there just outside the station. Now about the other of Ajmeri gate where platform starts from 16. This side is the best option for all those who want to go & come by metro. As all the metro lines are only available on this side of the station. Rail Yatri Niwas naming ‘Ginger’ & PO: Parcel office located this side. FE: Foreign exchange & EL: executive lounge is only available on the side of the Ajmeri gate.
