Overview of Hisar Railway Station – HSR

Hisar Railway Station is located in Hisar district of Indian state of Haryana. It is one of the main stations serving transportation in North-western India. The railway station is about 164 kilometres from New Delhi. Hisar Railway Station is a modernised railway station including all types of facilities that are essential for the passenger’s comfort. Hisar is the highest galvanised iron producer of India because of the presence of a steel industry.

Hisar was founded by Firuz Shah Tughlaq, who established canal system to transfer water from Yamuna River into the city. Hisar today experiences a continental climate, hot summer and cool winters. The Gorakhdham Express originates at Hisar Railway Station and reaches New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur, Agra, Gorakhpur, and Lucknow. In 2011, Vivek Express was launched under the leadership of Mamta Banerjee from Jammu Tawi to Mumbai via Hisar.
