Indian Railways has developed a number of systems with the passage of time, and due to such systems only, these days to travel with Indian railway has been made easier. The majority of all these systems is accessible on the website of the railway or a smartphone with the help of different applications. To book the ticket, there are systems of booking developed by the department in the form of applications and website. One needs to offer different information while going for the booking. One needs to provide name, contact details, age and a few other details. But there are a few passengers who want to use this system, but in the case of trouble, they need someone to guide. One such critical issue is to change boarding point online after train booking. The main important point is the destination and boarding stations. But what if one has made any mistake and wanted to rectify the error. Well, in that case, there is also a solution, but one needs to follow certain processes. The process, if followed thoroughly, easy to make the changes.

The process:

The process to change the boarding point is simple. One needs to login the website of the IRCTC and checks the section of “Booked Ticket History.” Here one can see various tickets that are booked from this ID. One can also see the ticket booked where he needs to change the boarding point. One needs to click on that ticket, and there will be an option of change the boarding point. One can see different station names in the drop down and can select another boarding point option from the list. Once it is selected, one can save the change, and there will be a message acknowledging the changes made. Here one must note that these changes can be made for the tickets which are booked online only and not from the reservation counter. The change can take around twenty-four hours to reflect. However, it can be seen in the chart only before the four hours of the journey.

The change in the boarding point cannot be seen on the latest printout of the ticket also, and it will show the old boarding point only. One must check the same in the ticket history which is considered as valid and at the time of final boarding it is seen in the chart as well.

In the case of a passenger who needs to change the boarding point due to any reason this service proves much helpful and it is also simple that one can do it by self also. The change in boarding point can be done on the website as well as the application of the IRCTC on any smartphone. The change of boarding point confirmed with the system is also acknowledged by the department via an SMS as well as an email to the user.

Mumbai Train: The huge network has problems also of large size

The city of Mumbai has got great significance in the context of the nation. It is one of the metro cities and also known as the financial hub of the country. The city has a population of more than one crore and to meet the transportation requirement of people the local train network plays a vital role. However, the largest network of Indian railway also has to face various problems of the network in this city.

For the residents of Mumbai as well as commuters it is much helpful to know about the Mumbai Trains problem in Indian railway as it can help them save time and go for another option also. The worst problems here the passengers have to face is the late arrival of the trains at different stations. The traffic on the local trains is huge, and as one train gets delayed, the whole traffic of the next train also gets accumulated for the train which comes later. In case of any other express train on the same route arrives than the local train is also not cleared which adds into delay. There are also problems of cancellation of services due to water logging on low lines during the monsoon season, which creates a chaotic situation for the passengers as well as the department. Containing the rush during the festivals in August and September

The month of August is a busy time when it comes to considering the festivals that are celebrated in India. Quite a few number of festivals fall during this month. The country also observes a national holiday on the 15th of August.

Of the many religious festivals that are celebrated during this time of the year, the two most important ones are Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami. On Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie rakhi on their brothers’ wrists and even exchange gifts. Siblings who stay in different cities try to meet up to celebrate this important festival together. Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Krishna. People generally conduct pujas at their homes and dress up the idols of a baby Krishna is new and colourful attires. For some north Indian families, this is a very important festival, and hence, they prefer to spend it at home with their respective families. If the holiday for 15th August falls on a Friday or Monday, people also try and manage an extended weekend and travel back home.

Thus, during this time of the year, there is a general rush for train tickets throughout the month. If by any chance Ganesh Chaturthi falls sometime in August, then the rush increases two folds. In order to tackle the mad rush, the Indian Railways, thus, run a few special trains during this month.
