The caves here were founded during the years 1957 to 1958 by an archaeologist, Dr. Vishnu Wakankar. You cannot miss out on the rock paintings inside these caves. They show the life and times of the people during the historic age. If you want to know more about the history of our country, then this is one place you have to visit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Museum of Mankind: &#8211;<\/strong> The National Museum of Mankind was made in the year 1985 and is also known as the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. The museum is 200 acres and is situated on the Shyamala hills. You can learn about different eras in the country. It has a vast showcase of the tribal cultures in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The State Museum of Madhya Pradesh: &#8211;<\/strong> The modern outlook of the museum makes it one of the best designed in the country. The 16 galleries here show different coins, fossils, manuscripts and sculptures representing the past and present of our country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Upper Lake: &#8211;<\/strong> This Lake is said to be the biggest in the state and was founded in the 11<sup>th<\/sup> century. It is also believed that the water of this lake has curative powers, which heel skin conditions. This man-made water body is surrounded by a small island in the middle. You can go on a tour of this particular lake by paddle boats or speed boats. When you are here, go at a time when the sun is about to set. That view will definitely leave you spellbound!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bhojpur Temple: &#8211;<\/strong> This incomplete place of worship was made in the 11<sup>th<\/sup> century. It will inspire you in every way with the exquisite designs and carvings. The tallest Shiva Linga was made here. It is carved out of a rock and is a massive piece which is awe-inspiring to see. This temple is situated on the banks of the Betwa River.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Birla Museum: &#8211;<\/strong> The Birla Museum contains collections of paintings, sculptures and manuscripts, which belong to the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> century BC and 6<sup>th<\/sup> century AD. You can view the Palaeolithic and Neolithic tools used in that age.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Raisen Fort: &#8211;<\/strong> This fort is 45 km away from the city Bhopal and is very old. Made during the 6<sup>th<\/sup> century, this is placed on top of hills and has many palaces, lakes, ponds and temples. There were around 84 lakes, which are now narrowed down to 15 only. The fort has rich history and has played a major role in many battles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bhopal has very rich history and natural beauty.
