An overview to Divyangjan quotes in Indian Railways

Recently, Indian Railways has introduced quotas of 2 berths in 3 AC class for Divyangjans. This addition is to the existing quota in sleeper SL class along with 4 berths. The earmarking of reservation quota in 3 AC classes meant for Divyangjans are as follows.

• At present, four berths in sleeper class is been under reservation quota including two lower berths for the Divyangjans and two middle berths for their escort, which is been reserved in all long distance mail or express trains.

• The decision is been made to book a reservation quota for two extra berths in 3 AC classes for divyangjans including a lower berth for divyangjan and a middle berth for his or her escort in all long distance mail or express trains. In this, divyangjan reservation has been extended with a facility to book and go for reserved tickets based on concession. Though, there will be no change at all in case of Garib Rath running express trains in which four berths are reserved for divyangjans in spite of unavailability of any concession.

• It will be announced by the zonal railways and will be added in the system as depending on the booking date or ARP – advance reservation period, whichever is sooner.
